Auto glass safety council honors crystal clear windshield repair and auto glass
The Auto Glass Safety Council has announced that Crystal Clear Windshield Repair and Auto Glass successfully completed an on-site independent validation audit of the company.
The Auto Glass Safety Council is a not-for-profit safety group dedicated to the proper installation of replacement auto glass. It publishes the ANSI/AGRSS Automotive Glass Safety Standard and manages a rigorous registration program whereby quality auto glass service providers agree to follow the standard and submit to random, independent audits on an on-going basis.
“Crystal Clear has successfully completed the onsite validation audit process,” said AGSC president Debra Levy.“ It is fully credentialed and should be congratulated for its commitment to safety. We are very excited for Chris and the entire Crystal Clear Windshield Repair and Auto Glass staff.”
“Few consumers know that windshield is an important safety feature of the car,” she continued, “and proper replacement is a must to protect the vehicle occupant. Crystal Clear has shown, through independent third-party validation, that it is compliant with the AGRSS Standard.”
“We are proud and excited to have been validated by independent auditors,” said Chris Courtney, owner of Crystal Clear Windshield Repair and Auto Glass. “I am excited for our company and, most of all, I am excited for our customers who can tell by using an AGSC-Registered Member company such as ours that our commitment to safety is strong – and validated.”
Crystal Clear Windshield Repair and Auto Glass is locally owned and operated and has been in business here for over 20 years serving Summit and Eagle counties. It is the only AGSC-Registered Member company in Summit County.
Whenever you need the glass in your car replaced, you'll want to look for this sign:

It means that the auto glass company replacing the glass in your vehicle is registered with the Auto Glass Safety Council™ and follows the Automotive Glass Replacement Safety Standard (AGRSS®). You may be surprised to learn that your vehicle's windshield does much more than just protect you from weather and insects. Your windshield also acts as a safety shield for vehicle occupants in the event of a collision or rollover accident and works with the seats, seatbelts and airbags to protect you in a crash. When installed properly, the windshield supports the roof of the vehicle in a rollover and allows the airbags to fully deploy. The windshield also aids in occupant retention, keeping passengers in the car in case of an accident. Auto glass is a critical safety component of your vehicle's occupant crash protection system and great care must be taken to make sure it is replaced correctly.
The Auto Glass Safety Council is responsible for the creation and ongoing development and management of the only nationally recognized standard for proper auto glass installation. Auto Glass Safety Council-Registered Members have made a commitment to install auto glass in accordance with the Standard. These independent businesses commit to following the standard process on their installations and must pass periodic independent random audits. The symbol above means that employees of each registered company are committed to following the Standard
So make sure you choose a company that is registered with the Auto Glass Safety Council for any of your auto glass replacement needs. Look for this logo at quality glass shops, or visit our website at www.safewindshields.org. Your windshield is a safety shield. Make sure it is replaced by a company that has a proven commitment to safety.
"… Improperly installed windshields are a much bigger safety issue than most people think. It is important that we get the word out to consumers that they need to ask a lot of questions to make sure their car's windshield is replaced properly. Choosing an auto glass company that has registered with the Auto Glass Safety Council is the safest place to start."
